Joey Bada$$ – All-Amerikkkan Bada$$

-Head Nod Certified-

If you’re a fan of Joey Bada$$ you already know about his rap prowess over boom bap beats.  He has an ability to deliver bars with the best of them.  Joey is a real emcee! No question Joey has been heavily inspired by 90’s Hip Hop but his latest album, All-Amerikkan Bada$$, has more to offer than bravado and slick wordplay.

On All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, Joey takes a softer approach than we’re used to hearing from him. He successfully straddles the line of spitting over soulful R&B rhythms without it coming across as an attempt at pop music. Joey transitions into more familiar, hardcore territory for the 2nd half of the album. The album features cameos from ScHoolboy Q, Nyck Caution, Kirk Knight, Meechy Darko, Styles P, Chronixx, and J. Cole.

The Flatbush emcee shows his range on All-Amerikkkan Bada$$. The LP is at times spiritual and introspective, at others times political, and always dope! He eloquently speaks on issues like racial injustice and his distaste for our current president. While his messages are hard-hitting, Joey delivers them in a tone meant to empower others.

Some of the most nod-worthy tracks include: For My People, Rockabye Baby, Super Predator, Babylon
